Sister Mary: Tim McArthur

Sister Mary McArthur is performed by Tim McArthur whose versatility is demonstrated

by his track record as a cabaret performer, actor, director, radio presenter and

producer.

He made his comedy/cabaret debut on national tour with Helen Lederer in Helen Lederer’s One Night Stand with Her Date Tim McArthur.

Since then he has appeared as a solo performer and as Sister Mary McArthur across London at Pizza on the Park (Critic’s Choice for The Times newspaper), in cabaret at the Purcell Room (South Bank) with Tim McArthur's Festive Ding Dong, Pizza on The Park (Critic’s Choice, the Times), New End Theatre (Over the Rainbow and Sister Mary Pops In!), Jermyn Street Theatre (Dangerous Cabaret, Eurovision, numerous solo shows including Over The Rainbow, Sister Mary McArthur and host for Jermyn Street Jewels), Montuno’s, No.3 Green Street and Lauderdale House.

Sister Mary McArthur has appeared for the last 2 years at the Leicester Square Stage for Pride, and Tim has also supported Graham Norton, and Julian Clary.

He has appeared twice at Don’t Tell Mama New York, once as himself and once as Sister Mary McArthur.

He is the voice of www.theatreradio.co.uk doing weekly interviews with the West End’s leading performers including Jon Lee, Bonnie Langford, Ellen Green, David Bedella and John Barrowman in partnership with the Society of London Theatre.

He is a frequent guest presenter on Gaydar Radio, has regularly presented with Sadie Nine on BBC London Radio and has presented for Five Live.

Other presenting has included the Gladstone Park Music Festival, Classical FM Stage Mardi Gras London 2002, Pride Festival Leicester Square 2005, and In Their Eyes Multi Cultural Festival Harrow.

As an actor Tim has performed in Cole (Upstairs at the Gatehouse), Forever Plaid (Edinburgh Fringe Festival and national tour), Company (Palace Theatre Westcliff), The Richard Blackwood Show (Channel 4), Fred Astaire His Daughter’s Tribute (London Palladium). Other work includes South Pacific,You're Gonna Love Tomorrow, As You Like It, Another Country and Joseph.

His directing work has included Jack the Ripper Jermyn Street Theatre’s Christmas Show; Silver Heaven, Sex, Love & Retro-Femininity, Euro-magic-Vision and the European Premiere of Jack Heifner’s Seduction. He has also directed cabaret artistes Diva Eve and Rebecca Carrington.
